I also love his Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series, classic high fantasy, wonderful books (even some say it starts out slow).
I'm reading the third book in his current series right now -- Shadowrise. I like this series a lot, but it's not for the faint of heart. The books are long, infinitely detailed and move at an epic pace -- slow but massive, building to an epic conclusion.
Back in the 90s when reading Otherland I joined a Tad Williams discussion group online, and the joke was instead of weightlifting one could just lug around a couple of his books, or "tomes."

MST does subvert a few tropes and has some strong points.
