She's a warrior and a general, unlike Superman and Batman, who are representative of rescue workers and detectives respectively - it would make more sense that she wear less of a costume, and more of a protective garment. And, yes, I know she is impervious to almost all forms of harm, but that doesn't stop half the invulnerable superheroes from wearing full-body suits.
