As stated above, you can't copyright an idea, but you can't copy the "world" per se.

For example. JK Rowling world. You could pick the same setting (say England) but you couldn't copy original places like Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, Azkaban, etc or people (like Harry Potter, Dumbledore, etc).
