The back story always makes things more interesting. Imagine if you had read the 10th or 11th book in the WoT series (without reading the preceding ones) and made a judgement on the whole series based on that!! Would that do justice to the first half of the series? That is kind of what reading "Diplomatic Immunity" out of order can be likened to.
"Diplomatic Immunity" was the weakest of those books. It was the one book I was disappointed with. So please don't judge the series on that one. As delightful as her fiction is, it doesn't show the full range of what she is capable of. But it was still alot of fun. I happily buy her books in hardback.
Love,
Tash
