It's from the first edition of Michael Moorcock's The War Hound and the World's Pain, published in the US in 1981.


Most cover art in the fantasy / sci fi area is horrible anyway.


And Moorcock had some of the all-time cheesiest covers back in the 1960s-early 1980s. Some of the others I have of his works are at least as bad as this one, if not worse.


Checked him out on wikipedia and most of the other covers were horrible too. To quote a cliche, I try not to judge the book by its cover anymore. :D
