Good summary. I would note that there are a few places where Eco pays homage to Borges: The library, the organization of the library, the blind librarian whose name is practically Jorge Luis Borges, the cryptograms within the library, and so forth.
But there are other literary references as well, if I recall. I'll just have to re-read the book (likely in Italian this time) and find out
