For the record, I found L'Étranger fairly boring and only vaguely interesting philosophically. I'm sure most of that has to do with the amount of effort it takes to read the thing. :P

Well, it might not. It's been too long since I read it, but the protagonist isn't exactly a cheerful or captivating personality, and there's really only the one event that is important.

(Btw, j'ai étudié, in this case. And cette langue.)
