I just re-read that part again and was coming to to correct myself before anyone caught my mistake.

If I wanted to be stubborn I could justify my mistake by saying that Pilate did wield the weapons, the two assassins being his "daggers" just as the actual daggers were the tools in the hands of the assassins.

But really I just mis-read and was thinking that the third person, Pilate, actually got a thrust of his own in there.

But isn't having someone killed or arranging for it pretty close to actually doing it? Part of what caused Pilate's guilt in the execution of Yeshu? Did the knife kill the man or did the person using the knife to stab the person commit the murder? If you use a person as a tool to kill someone does that absolve you of the murder?
