Whilst I hate to do it to you if you're planning on reading The Void Trilogy you really have to read The Commonwealth Saga first (Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained) as not only are they very good but The Void trilogy are actually semi-sequels (same world, some of the same characters, quite a long time in the future).

I have already read 'em, and quite liked 'em. Hence the new series making an appearance on this list. But thanks.
