Don't really see your point on the Alamo. You don't people think would be motivated by that?

Death! Ride to ruin and the world's ending!
- Eomer, from the Lord of the Rings
What was this guy thinking? I wonder if he looked behind him and saw his men exchange shifty glances. I know if my battle commander shouted something like this I would turn my horse around and ride the other way

If you want to be snarky about it though, most real battle cries leave a little bit to be desired. For instance:
"Remember the Alamo; Remember Goliad!" This is inspiring? The soldiers should remember where the enemy beat their comrades, then massacred them to a man? That would scare me, not inspire me.
"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" Wait a second Admiral, what did you say about those torpedoes? Do you think maybe we could go around the torpedoes instead of through them?
"I have not yet begun to fight". Well, Captain, if you ask me, it would be a good time to start, because so far they are kicking our butts.
"Nuts". Um, not exactly a linguist are you General?
