While I haven't read a ton of Sci-Fi I loved Otherland.

Here is a list of a few Sci-fi books that I did enjoy though I only read them because they were considered classics:

Farenheit 451
Ender's Game
Starship Troopers
Brave New World
Snow Crash

All of those were very good books that I highly recommend.
