Interesting review. I think it does make the reader want to read the book.

Perhaps it's just because I'm used to poor character development (this is the fantasy genre, after all), but the "flaws" don't really turn me off to the book, which sounds novel and interesting.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
