It's also sensible for a writer to use real names that are slightly unusual because there'll still be a sense of strangeness for the majority of readers (how many people would know that Ilyena is a name from our world?) but the name will still sound vaguely sensible.


But I imagine a lot of people - anyone from Russia for a start
