that Stephen King was locked up in a mental asylum, and that that was because his mind was too warped and dangerous for him to be allowed to roam free among normal people. She really believed it. And this was pre-wikipedia, so I had no way of checking.

I assume that must have sprung from a similar question: how can people imagine all these things.
