Got my Kindle less than a week ago... Antigone Send a noteboard - 11/10/2010 02:44:56 PM
You people who own one: did environmental considerations come into play when you bought yours?

Nope, never even considered it.

Would an e-Reader be better for the environemnt? Obviously fewer forests need to be chopped down, which is lovely for the air, but how green are the components?

Don't know...I can't imagine there being a big enough difference for it to matter.

I'm almost ready to demand one for a present, and (honestly) apart from the functional aspect of having loads of books in a small space, the green factor is really the deciding point for me.

Thoughts?

Green or not, Kindle is fantastic! I've wanted my Kindle for so long, but just couldn't justify spending the money on it until recently.

I love my books, and I will still buy some physical books. But I got so tired of buying multiple copies of the same book 'cause we read it to death.

Also, I'm simply running out of room! I have books in most every room of the house. Unless it's a book that's special to me for some reason, I intend to get it on the Kindle.

So far, I love it!

Remember I was always true...Remember that I always tried
Remember I loved only you...Remember me and smile...
For it's better to forget
Than to remember me
And cry
