Dumbledore, Voldemort, Ron & Hermione, Harry, Ginny, Luna Camilla Send a noteboard - 27/10/2010 10:31:39 PM
Dumbledore: I like his comment that Mundungus dreads facing him. It is again that suggestion of power and authority which we hardly ever see "on screen", but which must be there in the character of Dumbledore for him to function as he does.

I also like how he deflects Harry's suspicions about Draco. I am sure the "Dumbledore should tell Harry everything" crow disagrees, but I don't think Harry would be able to handle the truth.

His dress sense is also quite wonderful.

Voldemort: well, he's a psychopath (sociopath?). Who's surprised? His command to "tell the truth" seems to be connected to his legilimens powers (the focus on the eyes) -- obviously it fails on Dumbledore.

His fear that he may be sent to an asylum seems sensible: if you grow up in a muggle world and have some measure of control of magic, there must be that nagging suspicion that you may be nuts and imagining it all. Or that if anyone found out they would think you were.

I really like seeing him as a child.

Ron and Harmione: their spat over the Slug Club and the reaction when she says she was going to ask him ... aww.

I feel so sorry for Hermione when Ron goes off on his insanity period. Lavender Brown. I ask you. Of course, death by birds seems a fitting punishment. As is taking Cormac to the party. Take THAT stupid boy!

Harry: finally. Jesus Christ. That boy is slow on the uptake. It takes enthusiastic kissing right in front of him for him to get it?

His idea for tricking Ron into playing better is excellent, though. It shows insight into human psyche I really hadn't thought he had. Perhaps he is growing up.

Ginny: anyone else feel like applauding after her go at Ron after his tantrum?

Of course that is what pushes Ron off the deep end. And it was going so swimmingly with Hermione. *sigh*

I like how she approves of Harry taking Luna to the party as well. The more I read about Ginny the better I like her.

Luna: I love her. She is spot on. And the "no one has asked me to a party as a friend before" breaks my heart. But in a good way. She really was the best choice for it. I wonder whether Harry invited her because she had just mentioned Ginny. He seems to be acting on reflexes about her a lot here.

Snape: I really, really like how entirely ambiguous the drawing of him is here.
