Do you think that poetry deserves a wider readership?
It doesn't matter what I think, somytde people like poetry and some don't
Do bookstores with no designated poetry section but entire shelves full of Ayn Rand and Bibles make you angry?
That's just stupid...
If you had a beautiful little bookstore and could stock it with whatever you wanted, wouldn't you have a section devoted to poetry?
Of course
Why is poetry important?
It can show people who have strict formal ideas about language that rules are made to be broken
Also:
What are your favorite poems?
I don't have favorite poems. But i can tell you I don't like most of the things that are popular with English majors... I don't like frost, Wilde, Auden, etc.
Who are your favorite poets?
Ken mikolowski, Marianne Moore, ee cummings, anne carson...
I discovered them during my creative writing courses, mostly poetry, and you should read them or not, as you like, it's up to you.
How did you discover them?
Why should I read them? I am compiling a christmas list, and need to know.
"it's like the real world, except there's dragons!"
cw, you are missed...
cw, you are missed...
