Medieval Latin is easy, though. Ghavrel Send a noteboard - 17/11/2010 06:09:38 AM
I've never thought of his Italian as being any more difficult than his use of medieval Latin, but maybe I just don't recall the more difficult words?

Fair enough; I don't recall looking any English up, but I know I would have had to consult a dictionary frequently I'd I were reading it in, say, French. The vocabulary one uses in foreign languages is typically tailored to rather different contexts than 14th century Europe.

That is what drew me in as well, besides it being a novel by Eco - 16/11/2010 11:18:38 PM 1025 Views
Hence the "not Eco". - 16/11/2010 11:33:56 PM 1095 Views

I'm equally surprised you won't be reading it in the original - 16/11/2010 11:17:47 PM 989 Views
Let me rephrase: I'm going to wait for a hardcover version in Italian or English. - 17/11/2010 01:34:51 AM 968 Views
I guess it'll be English then - 17/11/2010 01:36:45 AM 943 Views
