It is my favorite Mieville novel Jacob Send a noteboard - 29/11/2010 04:07:38 PM
It is certainly his best, most balanced, and most complete story to date. It is definitely a book that should be read by all fans of genre fiction... and those who might just be interested in seeing how genre fiction can push boundaries.

This and the novella 'The Tain' are Mieville's best works. Though there are a few scenes in Perdido Street Station that top just about everything else, that novel does suffer from a weaker main story, an abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying ending, and a need for a bit more editing.
