But a Nook can't read, and a Nook can't cook, so what use to a Nook is a hook cook book? Tom Send a noteboard - 06/12/2010 05:06:23 AM
Sorry, I read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to my daughter a few hours ago.

I would recommend Dickens if you haven't already read him. A Tale of Two Cities is probably a good starting place because it's a bit shorter than the others, and if you don't like that you probably won't like the others. Longer ones like David Copperfield or Bleak House have more depth, but they also drag in places.

I always recommend serious literature. It's part of the discourse on the human condition and the ideas are a bit more mature (usually) than those in genre fiction.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius

Ummaka qinnassa nīk!
