Some books I love:
Wheel of Time (admittedly, more lately)
Pride and Prejudice (and all the Jane Austen books)
The Count of Monte Cristo
Pretty much anything Brandon Sanderson has written. I'm hooked.

That's a pretty short list, but given Sanderson, The Count, and the later WoT books, it seems that you like fast-paced books where lots of stuff happens... you may like Candide for that reason, although it is not 100% G-rated (there are one or two scenes that may be disturbing, but the book is a satire and it's not easy to forget that fact). There are plenty of fast-paced books, though, unfortunately not many coming to mind atm :D
