Why not? I haven't read any, but I thought about getting the first for my little sister. If you don't like them because they are, like, say the Twilight books, then they are probably perfect.

it's not a bad book if you like not-deep detective novels - in fact it's rather good within that genre, or at least it deserves some credit for the character of Lisbeth Salander - but er, don't recommend it to someone with a weak stomach or an even remotely prudish streak. (As in, it has incest, rape and serial killing.) The two other books involve a different plotline which also has its violent moments but isn't quite so bad.
