Anderson did a signing at Worldcon a few years ago and only 12 people showed up. After he finished he went outside and found a huge queue stretching around the building for the next author. He asked who it was and it was George RR Martin. Anderson then made a joke about how he should have brought some crates of beer and more people would have come. No-one laughed and Anderson left, looking a bit sorry for himself. Guess there was a lot of DUNE fans in the queue still angry with him.

Serves the guy right though.
