I hadn't heard how much is left. 4 chapters left but he does revise and re-revise finished chapters so he might not be as close to done as it seems.
New blog post about his visit to the TCA in January. He says he 'hopes' to have two exciting announcements to make. I suspect one will be ADWD, if he's managed it.
He can announce it on his website and then in person at the signing event
If he doesn't do it on his website after promising quite a few times and then does it at the signing, that would be pretty bad form. It's one of the few 100%, cast-iron promises he's made in the whole affair.
GRRM just finished 2 chapters (wrote one, re-revised another). Anticipation level is high!
