Not that much in there that I disagree with, actually.

Since I don't want to usurp your post on it, here's the link. I suspect we'll have some disagreements on certain points

You certainly make a good point about the theme of people foolishly struggling to be "free", and I agree that the combination of Antique and Christian influences is sometimes odd - he does at one point explain how he reconciles the Muse with Christian theology, but it's not too convincing. And while I don't know enough about Protestant theology in general or British 17th century theological rivalries in particular to place Milton the way you did, it certainly makes sense to me. Okay, you evidently found the preaching less boring and insipid than I did, but that's just a matter of taste, more than of opinion (or it would have to be differences in our opinions on religion, rather than on Paradise Lost).
Where did you figure our disagreements would be?

The word "book" is a bit misleading, they're really more like chapters.

Well, if I'd found really all of those Heaven books boring, I'm not sure I'd have finished it.

I've started to read it three times and put it down due to the style.

Yeah, if you really dislike the style, it really may not be worth forcing yourself through.
