2. Read a book by an author from a country you've not read a book from before.
Here I am a little stumped.
I think perhaps I haven't read anyone from Iran? Or really most of the Arab world. Any suggestions?
3. Read one Scifi, one Fantasy and one Spec Fic book (i.e. three separate books, and they can be books you've read before, if you like).
What distinguishes Spec Fic from Fantasy and Sci Fi? As I understand the term it is merely one that is wider, and encompasses the other two in addition to other stuff.
- Mystery
Do you mean crime? I wonder whether this is the time to finally pick up a Val McDermid book, but I am not sure it would fit the bill (never having read one before).
If it doesn't, perhaps I'll finally read the book where Poirot dies.
- Family chronicle
Here, again, I am having trouble thinking of a good one.

Preferably not. But we can be tolerant if you're running out of time.

But the challenge-books can count towards the 50 and the book you'd been meaning to read.
