Read a newspaper article about it, it was quite interesting alright.
The cells are referred to as HeLa cells, for Henrietta Lacks. They've been used for everything from the polio vaccine to the effects super gravity on cell structure (to see what might happen to astronauts).
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
