Some of his other books are pretty good as well. The only problem I have with him is after read a feew of boks all of his chracters start seeming very similar.


One thing his characters have in common is their humor. But that stems directly from his own quirky sense of humour, which is evident if you read interviews with him on his website and elsewhere.

To me he has clearly honed his skill over the years. Where his books in the 80's were starker, the ones from the last decade are more touching, and layered with deeper meaning.

I just love reading his books.
