The song is like a parasite, burrowing its way into the brain. On the other hand, it reminds me of the heady days of the early 1990s when I was traveling to a Russia that was in total chaos but oh so fun (it being on the radio in Russia all over the place).

Interesting. The Russians seem to have odd music taste, from the few things I've heard here and there about what was and is popular there.
Out of curiosity, do you recommend Rougon-Macquart?
