I thought everything was pretty fascinating. Fox and Ravens Send a noteboard - 20/03/2011 08:44:34 PM
I do agree that it has it's ups and down but I could not stop reading. I was sick for a bit a couple weeks ago when I was in the middle of Wise Man's Fear and got into bed at 10 instead of my usual 12. I wanted to read a bit so I pick it up and couldn't stop until about 1:30. It was just so engrossing. I don't feel that the characters were exceptionally deep, though. Besides Kvothe and Denna. I know there were backstories for pretty much everyone and there was much more going on than what was written but I never got the feeling that Sim, for example, was much more than the classic comedic character despite his family history. Not sure if anyone else felt this way but I'm definitely looking forward to my reread.

In short, yes it was a very, very fun read.

You can skip a large chunk when he meets Felurian. But once that is almost over he picks up again. *NM* - 20/03/2011 08:41:08 PM 213 Views
Well, that's in the second book. And I do agree. Much of it's just the same stuff repeated. *NM* - 20/03/2011 08:45:29 PM 234 Views
