It stays with me. It makes me examine how a society allows such harvesting to happen. How a person accepts this as their fate. Then I realized it was everyone's fate. To be born, grow, live, and die. My violent actions movie trained brain did not want to accept this story at all. It has challenged me. I really love it. An so beautifully written too.
I think that is the core of it. You go "aah, poor people", and then have to realise we do the same thing.
