people actually refuse to read anything else until a series is finished?

2. Please Read More Than One Series.
I have a friend from high school who I introduced to fantasy books maybe ten years ago. He devoured everything that David Eddings ever wrote, and then I got him started on Robert Jordan. Well, he's still reading Jordan, and in the 10 years that I've known the guy he's read the following authors: Eddings, Jordan. He's always bitching to me about how long it's taking The Wheel of Time to get finished, and I have to just shake my head and wonder why this guy has never thought of trying to read something else.
i have to join you in shaking my head, because if you're interested in books and reading, why sit and wait for something to be finished before moving on? those books that have already come out will still have the same words in them in case you forget what they said by the time the next book comes out.

My thoughts on authors that take forever to finish a series (a rant of epic proportions)
