One thief, two queens, three countries, lots of politics, a touch of fantasy here and there, a little dark humor, interesting characters with interesting relationships, and ultimately very satisfying. It starts a little bleak (the main character gets his hand chopped off in the second chapter), but it ends happily while still being emotionally poignant. I strongly suggest it.
Reading it always makes me feel good, anyway. Hooray for comfort reading!

I need a book with a happy ending.
