I thought The Scarlet Pimpernel was already bordering on chick lit.

This one is basically a (paper-thin) chick-lit cover story of some American girl discovering the manuscript that makes up most of the actual story, which is a chick-lit parody on The Scarlet Pimpernel. Like I said, it's amusing because the author doesn't take herself too seriously. Certainly not a very memorable read, but I had fun reading it. Mind candy, bref. :P
