Is the Mercedes Lackey 500 Kingdoms series complete, and or good? Lookin for something different is it Fantasy? I seem to think Lackey writes Fantasy though I haven't read any.


There are five out, with the 6th coming soon. I'm not sure if that is the final one, however. And they're entertaining retellings of classic myths and fairytales. One was Cinderella, the Andromeda sacrifices, some Russian myths like Koschei the Deathless, etc.


It's a modern retelling of Sleeping Beauty, by Orson Scott Card. I stumbled across it at the library. It's called Enchantment and so far I'm really digging it. It's dabbling in Russian mythology too.



That is one of my favorites! Really, really well done. I've been reading a lot of mythic fiction and fairytale retellings and that is by far one of the best.
