50 books for 11-yearolds Camilla Send a noteboard - 24/05/2011 11:11:20 AM
I got this newsletter from abebooks today. Now, abebooks obviously have a financial motive in all this, but I cannot really find fault with wanting to sell books (it is very much in harmony with my desire to buy them). And the question was an interesting one, I thought.

Now, the main point is not the introductory blog post by someone called Richard Davies (an author?), but the list that follows. I haven't read all of them, but those I know I loved.

Since the question has popped up before, and I am sure will pop up again, as to what you make an 11-yearold read, I thought it made sense to share it.

Feel free to discuss books missing or particular favourites.

And you do not have to keep your opinions on Michael Gove to yourselves either.

Pretty good, but I'd like to see a bit more hard sci-fi in there. - 24/05/2011 01:48:57 PM 886 Views

I think most "reading" children will have read those books before age 11. - 24/05/2011 02:22:49 PM 847 Views
