Judy Blume's work is amazing. Comparing most YA literature that comes out to it is ridiculous, because even Blume's contemporaries couldn't keep up with her. It's like saying "Ugh, that band Smashmouth is terrible, music used to be GOOD in the old days, with the Beatles!"
