And not Persepolis? My relationship with the genre is enthusiastic, but very narrow.

Also, an enormous cliché but for a good reason: Art Spiegelman's Maus, which manages to deal with both the Holocaust and the effects it's had on the survivors, except all the characters are animals for some reason.


I really should probably read Maus. Everyone keeps talking about it, and I haven't read it.
