(I didn't put this in the above aDwD Discussion Thread for two reasons, 1) I don't want to have to sift through there looking for responses and chance on more spoilers than I already know, and 2) it isn't really discussion, just asking a simple "yes, no, maybe" question; Admins move it or whatever if ya have to)

I have not started the book yet, I am in the middle of doing a reread on aFfC at the moment. But I did allow myself to see some spoilers a few weeks ago, and one of them popped into mind while I was reading the kingsmoot chapters in Feast.

Crow's Eye has that horn of his blown during the moot, and it obviously was some sort of magic horn (the glowing, the fact that it kept going for longer than the blower seemed to intend, the way it killed its sounder).

Crow's Eye says the horn allows him to bind dragons to his service.

I was wondering if the timing of the kingsmoot lines up to the point in aDwD at which (here's one of the few spoilers I know from the book) Drogon flies off and doesn't return.

I am wondering, do you think it is possible that the sounding of Crow's Eye's horn actually summoned Drogon away from Dany?

The other possible explanation for Drogon flying off that I have thought of is that (here's another spoiler I know) Bloodraven, aka the Three Eyed Crow, or Bran warg-summoned Drogon to themselves, perhaps without Bran even knowing he did it.

Do either of these theories make sense chronology wise?
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.

As others have said, that part takes place halfway through ASoS. - 06/08/2011 06:18:19 PM 713 Views
