1. Is there a book you've read as part of this challenge that you really enjoyed? What was it that made it so enjoyable?
The Brigadier Gerard by Arthur Conan Doyle (satire of war memoirs).
I loved the character ACD drew for us. He's a complete buffoon, but not without ability, so his accounts of his military action are very fun to read. I also enjoyed the fact that ACD was poking fun at the French. And I had just enough knowledge of the Napoleonic Wars to understand when the Brigadier was being set up, so that definitely helped with my enjoyment.
2. Is there a book you've read as part of this challenge that you really hated? What was it that made it so awful for you?
The Crow by J. O'Barr (graphic novel). I found the violence over the top, and very little redemption in the story, so it was all a little too much to take.
3. Do you read a wide range of books in your usual reading schedule?
Yes.
4. Are there any genres listed below that you've never or rarely read anything from?
Not much of a fan of Western or Surrealist fiction so I've read very little of either of those.
5. Have you read something in that(those) genre(s) as part of this challenge? How was that?
Not yet. I think I need some suggestions.

Books I've read for this so far:
Genre Challenge
- Historical Fiction/Alternative History
Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott
- Western
- Horror
Dracula by Bram Stoker, which is a little cheaty, so I'll need to work on that.

- Mystery
I'm currently reading The Man Who Knew Too Much by GK Chesterton, which is a collection of short stories that are also mysteries.
- (Auto-) Biography
- History
The History Of England: Volume 1 by David Hume. Forgot I'd read this.
- Family chronicle
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Although I've read this a couple of times, I still cried on this reread. A lot.
- Allegory/parody/satire
The Brigadier Gerard by Arthur Conan Doyle
- Surrealist novel
- Extra option for those who can: a novel in a foreign language
Hah. No.

Not too badly, I think, but I may have to put more focus on it in the last months of the year.
