It's very off-beat, it has a pop-intellectualism to it, it's a fast read and it's fun. There is perhaps a tiny element of sadness to it, but not really a very strong one. The Russian language version came with a CD with music on it that was related to the book - I'm not sure if the English-language version has that, but it's fun.
