I've heard that it's really good if you can power through the first book. I'm about halfway through the first book, and my head is spinning from terms/places/things that aren't being explained. Opinions on if I ought to hang in there?
I loved the first book. I was as confused as anyone, and I missed a lot of stuff, but I still enjoyed it. If you're still not completely sure, read Book 2. It is incredible.

Yes. Doesn't entirely live up to its potential imho, but the good outweighs the bad. *NM*

No, because of badly written characters and illogical power rankings...and a chaotic plot...
