It started becoming much more entertaining in the second half of the book, but I still didn't really like it. Kinda like lord-of-shadow said, it was entertaining in the same way a TV show is entertaining, and just as unbelievable. I didn't ever get the feeling of being immersed in its world, and the characters seemed...flat.
That's about all I remember from it now. But anyway, don't let that detract from your enjoyment of it, I just felt the need to comment.
