I read Die Dreigroschenoper and hated, hated, hated it. Tom Send a noteboard - 26/11/2011 06:46:11 PM
I didn't even waste time reviewing it. Brecht's poetry is better in my opinion. The author I have enjoyed the most is Hesse. I need a break from Mann but plan on reading his other novels (since I bought them). At the same time, I could see how he is not popular and a bit dull and heavy for some.

I also really like Heine's poetry, though it is a bit dated and there's a lot of that Romantic movement involved - oh the sea, the stormy sea! Rilke is a great poet as well.

Schnitzler was also wonderful, as was Remarque. Zweig was fascinating.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius

Ummaka qinnassa nīk!

I would probably be interested in these books if they were for a more adult audience. - 25/11/2011 04:31:05 PM 386 Views
