I forgot about Jahar! Poor Narishma - everyone calls him pretty & he has an Andalite girl's name! Cannoli Send a noteboard - 08/01/2012 04:31:03 AM
Because... it exists. And is actually pretty entertaining, especially after the first dozen or so posts once the two authors find their rhythm.

I may have also mentioned a blog that does something similar with the Goosebumps books- http://www.bloggerbeware.com/ - even funnier, I think.

I actually read these when my (younger by 12 years) brother claimed animorphs were better than the guys in the books I was reading at the time (the Belgariad). I HAD to prove him wrong, so I started reading the series. And they came out monthly, so I followed it right through to the end, because hell, why not?

However, I was also able to realize that while Garion would waste these kids in a morphing contest in his sleep, they were not half bad for children's fare. And this enthusiasm was FAR better than early ones, like Wee Sing videos and Barney the purple dinosaur.

Later on, he tried the same thing with Harry Potter compared to Wheel of Time, which caused me to read Harry Potter. In retrospect the little weasel seemed to be pretty good at pushing my buttons to get me to read children's books...and I think my sister in law did the same thing because I just bought a copy of the Hunger Games...DAMMIT!

Where was I? Oh yeah, anyway, from what I can tell from the first entry, these people are thinking right along with me when I read the books as an adult.
