Who is your favourite sci-fi writer? Why?

Anne McCaffrey. She's hardly sci-fi at all, but she's about as much as I can cope with. I love her stories, I love her writing style, and I love the nostalgia I feel when I reread them.

Who is your favourite fantasy writer? Why?

Tougher, but I suspect Janny Wurts is the answer here. I like her breadth of characters, and the fact that the words she uses show her love for language. And I like that she puts so much of her own self into the books.

Who is your favourite author overall? Why?

Georgette Heyer. Because I can reread her books over and over again and they never feel old. They are my happy-making books.
