I'm with Rebekah. Dresden book seek to accomplish some light but not shallow entertainment, and succeeds quite well -I don't agree with you that the writing is that bad, though I'll agree it's not more than functional.
But the Fury books? Can't stand them. Heavy handed pomposity, and LoTR has already filled up my quota for that.
