There were some things that I liked about it, but in general I found it depressing without purpose -- not dark like GRR Martin but just -- depressing. Which I think was part of the point, but didn't make it fun to read.
I also thought that in the "climactic" ending section was quite anti-climatic.
However I did really enjoy the very last scene.
