Maps of Ice and Fire (update!) Werthead Send a noteboard - 06/03/2012 02:46:03 PM
A while back a listing for a book called 'MAPS OF ICE AND FIRE' appeared on the Bantam website for release on 30 October 2012. George R.R. Martin has now revealed that the book will be a collection of new and more detailed maps of the ASoIaF world, including the first canon 'known world map' extending east to Asshai and the Jade Sea. The artist or artists for the book has not yet been revealed.

He was commenting on a new speculative map created by a fan, linked below.

UPDATE: Some more info on the map 'book' has come to light. It will actually be called THE LANDS OF ICE AND FIRE and will consist of a boxed set containing poster maps of Westeros and Essos, including a 'known world map' that stretches to Asshai and Yi Ti. There will also be some city maps included. Apparently some of the maps may be historical, showing fallen kingdoms and lands (Valyria?). A lot of the material will not have been seen previously.
Maps!

Westeros always struck me as being way too rectangular. - 07/03/2012 01:57:49 PM 1123 Views
Shouldn't Essos be, you know, bigger? Way bigger? - 07/03/2012 08:14:03 PM 628 Views
It is huge. But Westeros is much bigger than most people realise. - 07/03/2012 11:06:22 PM 888 Views
I know - but Essos is supposed to be much bigger still. - 08/03/2012 07:08:42 PM 1239 Views

Looks like someone took a pair of scissors and cut the top half of Essos - 15/03/2012 12:38:00 AM 711 Views
