Shouldn't Essos be, you know, bigger? Way bigger? Legolas Send a noteboard - 07/03/2012 08:14:03 PM
It doesn't make much sense to have people in Essos think so little of Westeros when it's nearly the same size - particularly when much of Essos seems to be so thinly populated, what with the enormous Dothraki Sea and equally enormous Red Waste taking up nearly all of it.

But let's see what the book makes of it, I guess, hopefully they'll do a better job... and a more original one, I might add, to the extent that's still possible. Someday someone (okay, other than Erikson) is going to make a fantasy world that is not just a rip-off of Earth. And perhaps even have the East be the good guys for a change...

Westeros always struck me as being way too rectangular. - 07/03/2012 01:57:49 PM 1122 Views

It is huge. But Westeros is much bigger than most people realise. - 07/03/2012 11:06:22 PM 887 Views
I know - but Essos is supposed to be much bigger still. - 08/03/2012 07:08:42 PM 1238 Views

Looks like someone took a pair of scissors and cut the top half of Essos - 15/03/2012 12:38:00 AM 711 Views
